STINK!

I took out the trash the other day and as I got close to the trash can the smell was brutal. It was as if I had walked into a wall of stink. It couldn’t be seen but it was definitely there. Wham!!! Like a frying pan upside the head! Not that I have ever experienced that, just imagining.  It reminded me of this verse from Proverbs.

 
A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash.  Proverbs 15:14.
 
There is no way I would want to eat anything that smelled like my trash. That is what
the writer of proverbs was getting at. A fool eats stuff that stinks. I know it isn’t about eating stuff but it is about what we put into our lives. I need to be vigilant to guard my life from trash. Not only that I have to be intentional about being hungry for knowledge. Some days you just want to relax and goof off but the wise person is hungry for knowledge. I know when I am hungry I have no difficulty in finding food. The same is true for wise people and knowledge. I guess I need to be hungrier.
