Favorite Words

Have you ever noticed everybody seems to have a favorite word or phrase they use all the time? If you aren’t sure what yours is just ask someone close to you they will know. Some favorites are: whatever, you know, it is what it is, at the end of the day, to be perfectly honest, and I could go on but you get the idea. Here is one that we are hearing more regularly these days and if you can identify the user let me know, “Let me be clear.”

The writer of proverbs seems to have some favorite words, one of which is “fool.” For instance, Proverbs 12:15, Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to be known that way. Fools have many traits listed out in Proverbs this is one. They are convinced they are right … all the time. They don’t listen to others. On the other hand, wise people listen to others. Isn’t it amazing that the guy who was considered to be the wisest man in the world was very interested in listening to others and learning from them? Maybe I can learn something from others as well but why would I take the time to listen? Just kidding.  I wonder whom* can I learn from today? Who can you learn from? Wise people are looking for opportunities to listen and learn from others.

*I used “who” but the grammar checker corrected it, so I thought I should listen and learn but I don’t talk like that or write like that.
